I have been visiting becraugs long before it was ever a park and has always been a place of interest and a great place to safely visit the great outdoors . It has walking and cycle and horseback trails through wild natural woodland where there is plenty of wildlife to be seen even when it is busy I have spotted wild roe deer 🦌
It is also a great place for dog walking and playgrounds for kids to play All for free
There are two lochs the larger used to be used for fishing until the councils enjoyment police put a stop to all that and there are also two archery ranges one target and the other field archery next to the loch and a vusitir centre with cafe at the top of the hill near a camp site
The only down side is when approaching from Linlithgow you will have to access the park via the notorious Preston Road which has 8 sets of tank traps (referred to as trafic calming measures or speed bumps) if not designed to rip the suspension right out of your vehicle on the spot then they will at least leave it in dangerous condition so you may have a terminal accident elsewhere !!!
Then there's are a series of at leadt 10 additional sunken iron drainage gullies on the rest of the way worse than any pot holes. All to the shame of west lothian council roads department. But if you survive all that you will have a great day out any time of year despite council attempts to reduce your fun

Beautiful landscapes, some excellent walks rain or shine. Cafe has good menu but very few tables so may have to wait if you want a meal.
